Intentionality and Focus
Between Spring and Summer, I get swept up in the annual flurry of transition. Will I practice what I preach?
In the therapy room, I help my clients tune into themselves. Knowing the Self, is a primary tool for mental wellness. Fulfillment comes when we intentionally choose our lives, while riding waves of influence from outside our control and even tsunamis of our own making, keeping an eye on what we really want. Not always an easy task.
It’s May-Cember! I gleaned this term from a YouTube series (The Holderness Family) about a couple who comically illustrates the dramas of their lives as parents. It’s the time of year when students are transitioning with graduations, parties, school activities, summer plans, etc. Even those who don’t have kids are impacted by this shift of energy. It’s also Summer! Hooray!
With all this, as well as a desired focus on music (this is, in fact, something I really want to do), I realized I haven’t been working on revisions of my first novel. Did I tell you I finished a first draft? Super exciting! It was The Goal to get it cleaned up and ready for readers at the beginning of the year, and it’s almost slipped from my fingertips.
So, Dear Reader, I may not be here for a little while. Hopefully, I’m writing and revising my novel and not doing laundry when I’d typically be writing for this newsletter.
Thank you for reading. Keep in mind there are many missives in this space to read which I hope you’ll enjoy and share.
I’ll see you soon. XOXO
